Many insurance companies exclude mobile phones from their cover. However, because we know that your mobile phone represents an investment in your ability to live your life the way you want to live it, we've made it easy for you to put some security around your investment.
For as little as $6.99 a month you can insure your new Telecom mobile against loss, theft or accidental damage. The cover is worldwide and includes up to $1000 for unauthorised calls made in New Zealand without your consent if your mobile is lost or stolen.
PLEASE NOTE: Mobile Insurance is not available for Prepaid Mobile Phones.
Mobile Insurance - What's covered?
While insured your mobile is covered* for:
- Accidental damage (including repairs or replacement, depending on severity)
- Loss
- Theft
- Up to $1000 of unauthorised calls made in New Zealand after your mobile is lost or stolen.

A mobile insurance policy covers your mobile for as long as you continue to pay your monthly mobile phone bill.
If your mobile is disconnected from our network or you are in arrears on your monthly bill, your insurance ceases.
The coverage is world-wide, no matter where you and your mobile are - you're covered.
Making a claim
It's easy to make a claim with Mobile Insurance. Simply call us on 0800 ORB COM (0800 672 266). You may also need to complete a claim form. Please ensure that if you have lost or misplaced your phone you put a bar on your phone to prevent any unauthorised calls being made.
